La compagnie d'animation Production IG a acheté les droits au publicateur Kodansha afin de lancer un remake live du cultissime Ghost In The Shell.

Kodansha a publié le manga Ghost In The Shell écrit par Masamune Shirow en 1989. Production IG en a alors fait le film d'animation culte aujourd'hui, sorti en 1995.

La société a également produit la suite du film d'animation, Ghost In The Shell 2 : Innocence, sorti en 2004, ainsi que la série Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex.

Reste à savoir quelle actrice pourrait incarner le major Motoko Kusunagi...
